Fear can be caused by many things:

• You see someone being insulted;
• You see someone being hit;
• You never know whether and when something like this will happen again, and the atmosphere is permanently threatening;
• You have been hurt yourself by an adult through words or physical violence;
• Someone tries to molest you and does not stop when you ask them to or is so threatening that you don’t dare to ask them to stop;
• Perhaps you’re ashamed at what has happened.

But:

• If someone hurts you, it’s never your fault!
• It’s bad and has to stop!

Use the knowledge and support of the counsellors to put an end to this bad situation.

It’s a good thing that your home is like this. It would be nice if everyone could give this answer. No child or juvenile should ever be afraid of an adult in their family.
